Taskbar Companions
You've already met one. He's the one on the bar at the bottom of this page. On a real Windows taskbar he has a job: if you pay for an AI coding tool, you get a limited allowance, and he shows how much of yours is left, as a health bar.One .NET 10 WPF process, one transparent window per companion, docked to the Windows taskbar. HP is the weekly allowance, MP the five-hour window, read from Codex's app-server and session logs and from Claude Code's own cache. No telemetry, and no NuGet packages at all.
Hover, poke or drag him. Lower the allowance and he gets sleepy; at zero he naps. This is a line-for-line port of the C# drawing routine to canvas.
Drawn in code, not drawn
There are no image files. Every pixel of both characters is a line of code, which is also why they can look at your cursor. The explorer is original art in TerminalExplorer.cs. Clawd is rebuilt from Claude Code's block-character banner: each terminal quadrant becomes a 6×12 block, rendered without anti-aliasing. Each receives a frame with time, gaze, hover, poke, drag, reset and energy.
